Man, you got that macro thing down great. I always love to see your macro shots in your blog. It is always a perspective not normally seen by us fast paced humans. Bob at Draco

Cheers Bob.
I just always, and I mean always, have my camera on my person every time I leave the back door, that is key. I do love the secret details that abide in the under world, and it is only a matter of time until I get my nosy face stung by a nest of yellow jackets.
I will post a macro of this when it happens.

Great textures! I'm not familiar with loquats but they look like something I'd enjoy - fuzzy calices asking to be touched. Careful of those stingers!

Thanks bintie!
I have a lot of loquats on my property, great broad leafed tropical looking tree, it also produces nice, edible fruit. I am in zone 8b where it grows very well. The flowers are quite insignificant, but the texture unique.

Great shot ESP - good luck in the contest. If you win the plant selection I'll look forward to loads of great posts featuring them as they grow and fill in whichever spot you choose for them.

Hi TD.
And good luck to you too. I just popped over to see your iced red bud tree...Ahhhh, it really cooled me down just looking at it, a nice break from the inferno we call Austin. I really struggled to find any trees in my image library, I was happy to find this one.

I really like this photo, but I am a sucker for bees at work. I think it works on several levels, especially getting the fuzz of the bee to show against the fuzzy loquat blooms.

I'm sure not envying the judge of this contest. I'm not sure I'd be able to select a winner.

Re: picture this photo contest
Hi and thanks for the picture feedback.
This months competition has turned in to a big one, lots of great entries. I agree, a tough task ahead for the judge.
Thanks for dropping in.

Loquat is one of my favorite trees and like HMHands I do love to see bees getting intimate with the flowers. But, ESP - your photo gets so close...really close! Have to rate it M for Mature Macro-loving audiences. If you could also transmit the fragrance you'd have the judges swooning away like bees.

Hi Annie.
Loquat is one of my all-time favorites too, a very classy small tree. It is so versatile with its tropical foliage, inconspicuous insect-drawing flowers and amazing, edible fruit! You cannot beat all those attributes in one tree, can you?

My latest dragonfly pictures are most definitely rated M,
they probably should be more like XXXMMC for mature macro content!

Cheers Annie.
